"Get Out Of Jail Free" Card

You never know when you might need one.

The “Get Out Of Jail Free” Card is a playable card in the board game Monopoly, which when played, frees the player from an in-game prison which restricts their movements and opportunities in the game world.

There are two versions of this card: One acquired from the “Chance” deck, and the other from the “Community Chest” deck. When this card is played, it is returned to the bottom or otherwise shuffled back into its respective deck.

Ownership of the card is granted indefinitely to the player who draws it, as the card states, it “may be kept until needed, or sold.”

Many a wannabe social engineer has carried one of these cards in their wallet, anticipating the day they would smoothly hand it over when confronted by an officer of the law, and charming the officer into letting them go. In reality, this is a very advanced jedi mind trick which very few have ever been known to pull off, and one which can easily backfire.

In some cases, it may actually provoke the cop into a blind rage, leaving you beaten within an inch of your life while one of his partners plants narcotics & automatic weapons in your backpack. Then when you are bloodied & bruised in booking, everyone at the precinct is going to ridicule you for being a “wiseguy” and a “joker.” Definitely not the desired outcome. Just keep your damn mouth shut.
