National-Level Operations

Since the days of Arab Spring, Anonymous has been involved in a neverending litany of operations against the governments of various nation-states, usually due to the influence of various government intelligence agencies and lawless corporations. Some of these involve actual international activists (mostly COINTELPRO goons, though some of them are Kremlin influenced as well) throwing around big words like international law and human rights.

It's a bizarre and depressing sector of the hacktivist job market where everyone lies to you all the time, but it is out there for anyone with the right kind of mind and grindset to dive into. Some Anons make vast amounts of money here, and others make important connections. For some younger Anons, it's grunt work and easy experience. Someone has to do it, and Anonymous might as well get its share as the world's most notorious digital arms dealer.

Since we need a way to keep track of them, operations against governments all get dumped here instead of being given their own pages. Most of these things are not organized by Anonymous anyways, and thus they need this special containment zone.

PLEASE NOTE: The Anonymous Military Institute does not endorse any of these so-called “operations” and in fact recommends AVOIDING any operation that looks like it may be run by a secret & lawless law enforcement agency. In many such cases you can be strung up as a patsy or some kind of sacrificial lamb. You may even find yourself targeted by professional assassins! It can also end badly if you have moral issues about working for the military-industrial complex. Other Anons may not have these qualms, or they may have the resources/skills needed to navigate this dark and chaotic environment. Your mileage may vary!

The CIA has never stopped dreaming about the day they could put the Shah (or one of his descendants) back in power in Iran, so that Wall Street could take over Iranian oil fields and mineral wealth. Their hopes were thin for a long time. That all changed in 2011, when the federal government realized it could leverage feminists, internet trolls and bored hackers as a weapon against oil-rich Muslim nations. And so, OpIran was born to renew their quest.

These Anons (and their friends in the Pentagon) are basically going to hack and troll Iran and the Iranian government and Iranian businesses until the Iranians relent and put Reza Pahlavi in charge. Since that will never happen, this fruitless conflict will continue as a perpetual source of free energy and funding for the world's military contractors.

This one is on the other side of the geopolitical schism, as defending the Palestinians will lead you to working with friends of the Iranians. That's right: Anonymous works both sides of world geopolitics. Anyways, this op is basically the same deal: Hacking and trolling the Israelis forever until they cease their occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

You're guaranteed to meet some interesting people here, but make sure to employ compartmentalization if you are also on OpIran or NAFO, as they will undoubtedly come into conflict through you.

Ever since the early days of /b/ and /v/, American and Russian Anons have been duking it out with each other in games like Counter-Strike, training & mentally preparing for the day that they would go to war with each other IRL. With over a decade of Anonymous-led buildup in Ukraine, and their Russian counterparts doing the same to the east, their dream of the ultimate war game has finally come true.

In the midst of this absolutely surreal development in geopolitics, a bunch of cartoon dogs calling themselves “NAFO” has emerged from this. NAFO is now one of the largest outfits which poaches its membership from Anonymous, but there are many smaller groups orbiting this sphere as well. Meanwhile the Russian side contains the descendants of Russian 2chan, and other historical Russian Anonymous hangouts. While both sides of this conflict are littered with American & Russian military/intelligence personnel, there are many entry points from within the world of Anonymous.
