The Docket Tracker is one of those tools that I made because I needed it for my own ongoing research into Anon-adjacent legal cases. When I started delving into these cases, I was shocked by how often I saw some of the same names & patterns coming up, over and over again. Outsiders to [[hazards:anonymous|Anonymous]] //(and even many people within Anon)// have no idea how connected all these cases are, but I'm hoping the Docket Tracker's tagging system & UI can communicate these hidden nuances. The Docket Tracker is one of those tools that I made because I needed it for my own ongoing research into Anon-adjacent legal cases. -The [[sub>labs|Labs]] and [[https://repos.lanterns.io|Repos]] are where I'm dumping random web tools I've made. The [[sub>whereami|Triangulation Station]] is another such Labs project. Unlike the articles here that are written for other people, these software projects I make for myself. But hey, if they're of use to someone else, all the better.+The [[sub>labs|Labs]] and [[https://repos.lanterns.io|Repos]] are where I'm dumping random web tools I've made. The [[sub>whereami|Triangulation Station]] is another such Labs project. Unlike the articles here that are written for other people, these software projects I make for myself. I'm a big fan of having custom DIY tools on locally-hosted infrastructure, because that's just the era of internet I grew up in. Plus it's good programming practice. But hey, if they're of use to someone else, all the better.

The Docket Tracker, as it stands, just scrapes CourtListener's [[https://www.courtlistener.com/recap/|PACER archive]], so it's basically just tagging PACER data. If the case isn't on PACER, or has been expunged, I have no way to track it yet. Nor can this track local/state/foreign cases. I've been contemplating how to expand it to cover these other types of cases. It's definitely a backburner project tho, as it would involve having to locally store & sort a mountain of document scans, and not just a simple database of remote PACER metadata. The Docket Tracker, as it stands, just scrapes CourtListener's [[https://www.courtlistener.com/recap/|PACER archive]], so it's basically just tagging PACER data.  That said, if I'm missing anything relevant, and it's on PACER, feel free to [[sub>contact|contact me]] and let me know. //(Please include the case number! It is extremely annoying to pull cases without a case number!)// That said, if I'm missing anything relevant, and it's on PACER, feel free to [[sub>contact|contact me]] and let me know. //(Please include the case number!
